Bangkok... get me outta here :)

We made it!! Stand by worked amazing and made each flight with business class from San Francisco to Tokyo... that alone needs a blog post! We got some sushi sake and asahi  in the Tokyo airport, now I can say we have had Sushi in Japan! Wish we could have enjoyed more time there but we needed to get to Thailand where it is much cheaper. Bangkok was, well it was a smelly city where we couldn't stop sweating! SOOOO Happy to get the hell out of there. I hear from heaps of people that the first time you get to Bangkok you hate it but the second time isn't so bad. I am guessing because you learn a little on how not to get scammed so badly. Those Tuks Tuks are BRUTAL!!! Oh well you live you learn and you loose a little money. We are now somewhere waiting for the ferry to Kho Tao... the bus ride here was an experience. We were packed like sardines in the back of a truck with 40 other sweating backpackers for the last 40 minutes of it... but hey we made it and we got the hell out of Bangkok :)
Will write more later just wanted to send a quick update! Hugs to all!!

Headed to Thailand!

I decided to go ahead and start a blog for my family and close friends who want to keep up with whats happening on this crazy/fun journey we are about to embark on. I am headed over to Thailand with Troy for an undetermined amount of time (maybe a month, maybe two months, maybe 6 months). I suppose only time will tell.
A large part of me has wanted to discover Southeast Asia for quite some time now. Through some not so serious, spur of the moment thinking I thought, "Hell lets just do the damn thang!" We don't have a set itinerary, instead decided to keep our minds, hearts and schedules open. I am soooo looking forward to the adventure ahead. A culture shock is long overdue in my and Troys book! There are so many inspiring travel stories that come from all walks of life, old, young, male, female, kooky, serious, wild, shy, and so many more. Each and every individual and story sends goosebumps and adrenaline pumping through me. This just reinforces that what I am doing and the path I am taking is exactly where I NEED and WANT to be and for that I am so happy!
I hope this opens new doors for me (and of course Troy) and lets us tap into who we really are and aspire to be.
We are flying stand by (Troy's mom is so graciously letting us use her perks as a flight attendant for United) and will hopefully be in route on Tuesday April 24th at 6 am. If all goes as planned and seats (hopefully in business class) are open we should be arriving in Thailand after roughly a 30 hour travel day(s).
We are packing light (one small carry on backpack only) with some new tunes, new reads and a whole lot of patience.
Let the adventure begin... (well in one week)!
